Maren Pan, born 1966 in Berlin, granddaughter of the German artist Hans Karl Quast, began her artistic career at the age of 5, with annual art competitions at local newspapers, banks, and talent contests, in which she won several prizes. At the age of 11, she studied black and white photography with the photographer, Bernd Schüttke. Since 1987, she sold art in Berlin through her physical therapy practice. From 1991 to 1994 she studied jewelry making at the Annette Kolf Studio, Berlin. Since moving to California in 2006, she has developed interests in furniture design, art plasterwork, and oil painting. In 2015, she began working with enameling projects, including her new Pan Wave design pieces.
